Larme Rosé at $9.99!
The #4 selling wine in the store is on SALE!
The best Pinot Noir you will drink this year...

I'm convinced at this point that in our 20 years in business there is no better time than now for our business model to shine. In a world where a restaurant this week tried to charge me $15 for a side of mac and cheese (it was $13 just 6 months ago), I am proud to report that here at winestore. we are still out here treating your money like it was our own.

Our goal to bring you the absolute highest quality products at the lowest possible prices knows no bounds, and Ellie Sauvignon Gris is a perfect example of our model in action!

When we first tasted this gem it was bold, unexpected, and impossible to ignore — just like the elephant seemingly wearing a bathing suit that is on the label. It’s 100% Sauvignon Gris, a rare cousin of Sauvignon Blanc that’s almost never bottled on its own. But in Gascony, with sunny days, cool nights, and soils of clay and silt, this grape shines.

Imagine white peach and apricot on the nose, a crisp, complex palate, and a finish that lingers with freshness and balance. Think of it as Sauvignon Blanc’s more stylish, slightly mysterious cousin. 😂 You'll also up your street cred with your wine geek friends on this one.

The elephant in the room? You’ll want more than one bottle...I only know this because at a dinner party with friends recently, we went through 6 bottles. I'm not going to comment at this time how many people were at said party...this is and always will be a judgement free zone 🤣.

TGIF!!!!

Larme Rosé at $9.99!

Burns Landing Cabernet is having one heck of a start to the year.

Wine arrives in January. Wins the Prisoner blind tasting in February. Carries that momentum and almost 5 full months into 2026 is the #4 best selling wine in the entire store!

Just 6 days ago we got the following e-mail from a customer that confirms I guess what a lot of people are feeling right now!

So what is going on with this wine and why are people losing their minds?

Here is what we told you in January:

At some point the bulk market for wine in California will fully correct, equilibrium will be restored for a time, and these insane deals will come to an end. Until then, we are here for the party.

Today’s insane gem - 100% single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the eastern hillside slopes of Alexander Valley, grown in volcanic soil in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains - the same mountain range that forms the spine between Sonoma and Napa, the same range that gives structure to some of the most expensive Cabernet on earth.

This is the second time we have bought juice from this winery. The first time someone forwarded the e-mail to the winemaker, who then called me and was like “Yo, I thought we had an agreement…” and I got my wrists slapped.

So this time I can only tell you about the vineyard site - but that is enough to send any Cabernet lover into overdrive.

The specific vineyard site sits along Chalk Hill Road, where Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, and Knights Valley converge. There are only a handful of properties on this stretch. The soils are red volcanic - well-drained, mineral-rich, and nutrient-poor - which is exactly what you want. Vines struggle here. They send roots deep into fractured volcanic bedrock looking for water, and in return they produce small, intensely concentrated fruit with natural acidity and structure that you find in some of the most expensive wines on planet earth.

This particular site was planted by the same viticulturist who shaped the vineyards for Opus One and Robert Mondavi's legendary To-Kalon holdings in Oakville. You read that correctly…the person who designed the most iconic vineyard in the history of American wine planted this one too.

The estate directly adjacent to this vineyard produces three Bordeaux-style blends that routinely score 98-100 points from Robert Parker, retail north of $400 per bottle, and are only available through mailing list allocation.

These guys hand-harvest. They obsessively sort. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, and un-acidified - which is winemaker speak for "we didn't cut any corners."

All of that, and thanks to a bulk market that keeps on delivering the goods, we have it on sale this holiday weekend for only $19.99.

Let the mayhem begin!

Happy Wednesday all!

😍 Memorial Day Special #1 - Our Best Selling Rosé at $9.99...😍

05.19.2026

2025 Larme en Rose

Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

FULL MEMORIAL DAY SALE LINEUP: HERE

Lowest Online Price in the US!

SALE ends Monday May 25th, 2026

Reminder we open at 9am Thursday - Saturday!

The 2025 release of our #1 selling rosé of all time arrived in time for the official start of summer - and we are PUMPED UP!

Memorial Day is kinda the official start of rosé season (but let's be honest we drink rosé year 'round), so the chance of us opening up multiple bottles of this over the holiday weekend are strong to quite strong.

Why is the wine so special? (Aside from the fact that it has sold 8 bajillion bottles since its release in 2018...😂)

Well, if you stick around the wine business long enough, you’ll have seen it all. Where once wine coolers were cooler than Liebfraumilch, now hard seltzer is hot (served cold). White Zin was once de rigeur, though it was never French; it was from the good ol’ US of A. But then that became too sweet and the category died. Or seemed to. Because then rosé rose up like a zombie eager for fresh meat, though the current iteration of the pink stuff is more often French than not. Provence is the epicenter of it and the French have figured out how we like it: dry, pale pink, light and refreshing.

I know what I'm drinking tonight...right when I get home! It's gonna be 90 degrees today!

Happy Tuesday all!

Memorial Day Specials!

May 18th - 25th, 2026
ALL WEEK LONG!

*ALL Wines Priced At Lowest Online Price in the USA!*

May is so crazy (people call it Maycember!), but we love to cap it off every year with an epic Memorial Day Sale!

Memorial Day Weekend is a time to give thanks to those who have given their life to serve our country. It's the weekend that kicks off summer, and rings in the end of the school year. Pools open and grills fire up. Kids get ready for camp. Life is good, right?

So this week we're gonna be playing songs like this song on repeat in the store (seriously, that song is my fave - first time you hear it by the pool it means summer is here!), while we're also rolling out our largest Memorial Day Sale ever, with prices that hit the wallet just right.

Some of the gems below we have never marked down to these prices, and a few have very limited availability.

As always, thank you for your business. We continue to be humbled by the opportunity to serve you.

We sincerely appreciate it!

Let's do this people!!

If the Bertrand name sounds familiar, it should — their sister estates Château Carteau and Château Vieux Lescours have been breakout stars for us. With the price finally right, we’re excited to bring you Franc Pipeau, from a family that’s been making wine in Saint-Émilion since 1850 across five generations on prized clay-limestone slopes. Jacques Bertrand even served as President of both the Saint-Émilion Wine Syndicate and the Jurade de Saint-Émilion — serious credentials. The wine is classic Right Bank Bordeaux: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from 6.5 hectares in Saint-Hippolyte at the foot of the côte.

2024 Benieres Pinot Noir

Most of the Napa OGs have been bought out or at least changed hands numerous times. The winery behind Palace Thief Napa, starting in 1969, has remained owned and run by the same family. Now, it’s a third-generation project but the critical piece, the vineyards, is really what has allowed this family to achieve such demonstrated excellence. The Cabs are firm, powerful and very classically Napa-esque.

We like to shop in the Languedoc-Roussillon; it’s a place in Mediterranean France that has been important for more than a century but, despite the noise about inexpensive Bordeaux wines, remains the place to shop for value. When they are growing on chalky-clay terroirs, and when they apply Bordeaux techniques to it (fancy stainless steel, new French oak, minute temperature control and the like), they make a fascinating wine.

2023 Willowlake Pinot Noir
Release Price: $39.99
SALE Price: $19.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Finally! A wine that rivals Belle Glos at a much friendlier price point. Pinot lovers unite!

Recently Almansa has been considered to be hot for high quality wines, but a century ago Almansa produced high quality wines, albeit at that time they were sweet ones. They used Alicante Bouschet, but today they call it Garnacha Tintorera, they nixed the sweet, and they mix it with 30% Monastrell to make this wickedly powerful red wine.

2022 Cape Charles Chardonnay
Release Price: $40.00
SALE Price: $17.99 (net)
SAVE 55%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

That’s right - 100% Napa Valley Chardonnay from one of the top producers in America

2024 Benieres Chardonnay

SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

The vast vineyards of France’s Languedoc hold many well-known grapes, including Chardonnay that is friendly and accessible. This one is gathered from organic vineyards on the Aspères plateau with its excellent marl and limestone soils. The winemaking is straightforward – stainless steel fermenters and just enough lees stirring to enrich the texture and flavors. We love finding wines like this!

2021 Chateau Malartic Skiff
Release Price: $40.00
SALE Price: $24.99 (net)
SAVE 38%
Lowest Online Price in the USA!

From the prestigious Château Malartic-Lagravière, Le Skiff is their so-called “second wine.” But don’t be fooled — 83% Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot gives it depth, dark fruit, and velvety texture that drinks like first-class Bordeaux. The Bonnie family farms sustainably, harvests by hand, and ages the wine in French oak for 15 months — so what ends up in your glass is polished, plush, and seriously charming. It’s Bordeaux at its best: elegant, balanced, and meant for lingering evenings. Think more romantic stroll along the Seine… less Macron getting slapped by his wife.

2023 Burns Landing Cabernet Sauvignon

Today’s insane gem - 100% single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the eastern hillside slopes of Alexander Valley, grown in volcanic soil in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains - the same mountain range that forms the spine between Sonoma and Napa, the same range that gives structure to some of the most expensive Cabernet on earth.

2024 ELLIE Sauvignon Gris
Release Price: $15.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 33%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Sauvignon Blanc may be the star, but Ellie’s the scene-stealer. This rare grape brings all the bright citrus and tropical fruit you love, then smooths it out with a juicy, round finish. Fresh, fun, and just a little unexpected — it’s the kind of wine that keeps the party going. Ellie’s the kind of wine you text at midnight and she actually shows up.

2023 T. Solomon Pinot Noir
Release Price: $70.00
SALE Price: $24.99 (net)

I have tasted the final version twice now, and I am willing to put my professional reputation on the line here and tell you that this may be the best sub $40 Pinot Noir you are ever going to try.

2024 Vellas Sauvignon Blanc

To most, the Languedoc is a large scale region with small scale ambitions. Even more importantly, there are ancient vineyards in the Languedoc that didn't get grubbed up and replaced with newer, sexier clones. Older vines have survived, and in the best spots, the climate is conducive to long life, and those vines that have provided the grapes for this wine have long been grown organically.

2025 White and Sea White Blend
Release Price: $15.00
SALE Price: $7.99 (net)
SAVE 47%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

It’s surprising that grapes like Sauvignon Blanc aren’t more widely planted in southern France, as they can be harvested fairly early to retain bright and citrusy acidity without really losing character or even complexity. Maybe wines like this will encourage more winemakers to try working with crisp and aromatic white grapes in Languedoc-Roussillon.

2024 Dosoris Lane Proprietary Red
Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Maybe one of the most hyped up wines this year, Dosoris Lane is all about showing what type of crazy quality you can produce for under $15. Think black pepper notes from a little Syrah. The black fruits in the middle suggest a little bit of Cabernet; the red fruits and white pepper hint at Grenache. Put it all together and you have some epic red wine from the sunny south of France, with expansive and bright flavors.

2023 Colline du Bonnet Grenache
Release Price: $25.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 60%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Colline’s Grenache vines are baked in the sun around the town of Cébazon in eastern Languedoc, and still enjoy enough of the Mediterranean breezes to retain some acidity. The winemaking is more traditional than modern (cold soaking the grapes for two days is still new thinking) but otherwise the grapes stay on the skins in vats for at least a month; then see long aging in cement cubes. The old guys would be proud

2025 Dosoris Lane Blanc
Release Price: $15.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 33%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Sometimes you just have to embrace the mystery of wine; truth be told, we don’t know which grapes are in this wine. They wouldn’t tell us, but we didn’t care after we tasted it. Neither merely crisp or full and rich; the wine straddles a really nice place that is refreshing and patio-perfect, but that has some weight and character to handle rich fish or even grilled chicken.

2024 Cape Charles Sauvignon Blanc
Release Price: $25.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 60%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

After killing it with the AVERÆN project in Oregon, the Banshee gang is hard at work again in France. They’ve grabbed some vineyards in Gascony and we’re smart enough to snag some of their early efforts. There’s not a lot of Sauvignon Blanc grown in these spots, but what is there produces wines like this one: poised, more bright melon and citrus - just the way it should be.

2024 Histoire de Grains Marselan
Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%
Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Throughout the expansive Roussillon-Languedoc are some of the more adventurous French grapes with which you might not be familiar – Marselan is at the top of the heap. It’s a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache and in the last quarter century is being looked to as one of the grapes that might save France from climate change. Will it? Who knows. But it certainly is interesting stuff: a bit lighter than Cabernet Sauvignon but with some of its strengths and backbone. Bordeaux has just recently chosen it as a newly approved grape there; they see its character and future importance as well.

2023 Snowvale Sierra Foothills
Release Price: $80.00
SALE Price: $14.99 (net)
SAVE 81%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Since the 2012 vintage we have been partnering with Baron Ziegler and Rob Fischer to select some insane high end left over barrels from prestigious wineries and bottle them under their Snowvale and Willowlake labels. The results have been pretty eye opening. We’ve seen wine from Dominus, Hidden Ridge, maybe or maybe not Dunn and some other crazy names.

2024 Rocoiseau Viognier
Release Price: $12.99
SALE Price: $7.99 (net)
SAVE 38%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

More than a half century ago Viognier was forgotten; near extinct. In the 1980s things blew up, with acreages quintupling. There were a few successes, but most just didn't do justice to the grape. Winegrowers eventually found the ideal conditions, while the Viogniers of the Rhone have become pricey and sought-after. Elevated spots in the Pays d’Oc are this wine’s source; to a great degree this is the grape’s frontier now.

2024 Maison Belliac Chardonnay
Release Price: $25.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 60%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

When the French decided to build the Canal du Midi, they unsurprisingly chose a portion of the Pays d’Oc that is flatter and less mountainous than much of the regional landscape. The climate is different, needless to say, but not so very different from sunny California, and the wine has some of that same buttery character that West Coast Chardonnay exemplifies.

2024 Darley Chardonnay
Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Fresh, vibrant, and full of charm, this Chardonnay shows off juicy pear and peach, a touch of vanilla, and toasty brioche. The palate is rich yet lively, finishing long with a hint of hazelnut warmth. It’s an easy match for seafood, soft cheeses, or just sipping with friends. So smooth it might seduce your seafood.

Corte Giovanni Prosecco
Release Price: $15.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 33%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Though Prosecco is made throughout the northeastern Italian regions of Veneto and Friuli, there are two areas that produce wines with more vibrancy and complexity to them and that are solely elevated to DOCG status as a result: Conegliano-Valdobbiadene and Colli Asolani. A very dry version of Prosecco (the meaning of Extra Brut) is as modern as it gets, but it reflects the growing awareness of Colli Asolani as producing wines.

2024 Le Cabas Sauvignon Blanc
Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

Gascony ain't just the Three Musketeers, though they have a place in our hearts as well. More than anything, Gascony is foie gras, delicious plums and apricots, rich dinners with Armagnac to follow. But the white grapes grown here are not just for great brandy, they have always been consumed as wine too and the last decade or so has seen an embrace of clean, cold winemaking to preserve the aromas of otherwise neutral grapes like Ugni Blanc or Folle Blanche. It's also seen new plantings of Sauvignon Blanc, a grape that requires no heroic measures to reveal its aromatic riches. Whats fun here is that these same winemaking methods generate something bright and vibrant but without much resemblance to other such Sauvignon Blancs (I'm looking at you, New Zealand), many of which have begun to seem like self-caricature. This one is comfortably itself, needing only an ice bucket and a big glass.

2024 Rase Montagne
Release Price: $20.00
SALE Price: $9.99 (net)
SAVE 50%

Lowest Online Price in the USA!

This wine is bold, juicy, and just a little wild — like the night that always starts with “just one glass.” Syrah brings the spice, Alicante brings the color and body, and together they make a blend that’s smooth, powerful, and far too easy to finish. Pairs with grilled meats, late-night pizza, and questionable decisions. Big, bold, and guaranteed to stain your teeth… and maybe your reputation.

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
The kind of White Burgundy I need in my life - on SALE for $12.99
The best $7.99 Pinot Noir you will ever have...
Only 2nd time at $7.99 since 2024!

We saved something special for the weekend!

Rarely, if ever, do we feature wines that cost this much. Heck, just this week we have two wines featured that are $7.99 per bottle. But these wines are somethin' else and you need to know about them!

Nearly 4 years ago we partnered with the Gil Family (HERE), owners of 15 wineries in Spain, on an exciting new project.

Could we start a winery where economics were not involved? If we found the right winemaker and told them they could source whatever grapes they wanted, use whatever barrels they needed, and basically spare no expense on any part of the operation - how good could the wine become?

Most traditional wineries are hindered by whatever economic reality they find themselves in. Maybe it's what they purchased the land for, or they need to make x number of bottles at y price in order to meet their monthly obligations, and so on and so forth.

This would be the exact opposite. Hold on to the inventory in barrel as long as it needs to be there. If the quality we're looking for only yields 20 cases, then all we're going to make is 20 cases.

After interviewing winemakers from Argentina, France, California and Spain, we landed on Silvia Puig - who many of you know from En Numerous Vermells in Priorat.

Silvia is PERFECT for this project. She is a renaissance woman - an artist, winemaker, writer. She names all of her barrels after tasting them based on how they make her feel, and those barrel names are now reflected in the wine names themselves. She painted a painting reflective of the wine she was making and that painting became the label. One example pictured below.

We named the winery La Hermandad de la Uva - or "The Brotherhood of the Grape."

The name is borrowed from John Fante's 1977 novel of the same name. Fante was the son of Italian immigrants, a screenwriter who worked alongside William Faulkner in Hollywood, and a literary hero to Charles Bukowski (who championed his work and helped bring it back into print). In the novel, "The Brotherhood of the Grape" is a group of old Italian men who gather at a winery in California's San Joaquin Valley to drink, gamble, brawl, and argue about life. Their motto: "It is better to die of drink than to die of thirst."

It felt like the right name for a winery built on an absolute refusal to compromise.

Now after a more than 36-month wait, the first wines have arrived in the US. I've now tasted multiple bottles of each, and you can call me biased if you want, but Silvia has delivered the goods.

I personally believe these will be some of the most special wines you will drink this year.

Now for the crazy part - the quantities. They are MINUSCULE.

Syrah: Entire production is 294 bottles. Just 24 cases.

Cabernet Franc: Entire production is 270 bottles. Just 22 cases.

Grenache: This is the "volume" of the operation 😂 - 1,302 bottles, or 108 cases.

And now for the price. Each wine is $99.99 per bottle.

Expensive? For sure.

Worth every penny? No question in my mind - and I'm telling you this as probably the most price-sensitive person you know when it comes to wine.

Consider: the glass bottle alone costs north of $10 per bottle. It's etched, and the back is designed to reflect the slate llicorella soil the grapes came from. The glass mold was custom designed by Silvia specifically for these wines. For context, a standard wine bottle - even for expensive wines - typically costs a winery somewhere between $0.50 and $1.50. An "elegant" heavy bottle might run $2-3. Custom molds alone can cost $10,000 or more. When your bottle costs 5-10x what most luxury producers spend on packaging, you're operating in a completely different universe.

Below are Silvia's notes on each wine.

Outside of two Michelin star restaurants in Spain, Can Bosch and Gaudium, and one other restaurant in Priorat owned by Silvia's husband, these are the only bottles available for sale. I included a photo of a bottle we had when dining at Gaudium in February just for fun.

TGIF! I know what I'm drinking tonight!

Winemaker Notes:

La Hermandad de la Uva - Grenache "Misty"

A selection from two barrels of Garnatxa. One is a blend from two villages in the southern part of the DOQ Priorat: Molar, which sits low in the valley at just 330 feet elevation where the vines bake in the sun, and Bellmunt, slightly higher but equally warm. The other barrel comes from Poboleda in the cooler northern reaches of the region, near the Siurana river, where altitude brings freshness and Mediterranean nights turn continental.
Both barrels were aged in 500-liter French oak on dark llicorella slate - the volcanic soil that forces roots to dig deep, sometimes 20 meters, searching for water through the cracked rock. Yields here are brutal. Some vines produce less than one kilo of fruit per plant.
One of these barrels was named Ella Fitzgerald - because the Garnatxa is complex, deep, and delicate at the same time, just like the music of that artist. Misty is the name of one of her most famous songs.

La Hermandad de la Uva - Syrah "At His Heels a Cold Stone"

This Syrah comes from Poboleda, one of the cooler, higher-altitude villages in the DOQ Priorat, tucked into the northern part of the region where the Montsant mountains provide shelter and the river brings life. The vineyards here climb steep costers - terraced hillsides too narrow and vertiginous for machines. Everything is done by hand.
A selection from a single 225-liter French barrel. Silvia writes: "I always like this Syrah because it shows very rich and fresh, taking all the character of the stone (llicorella) and the autochthonous herbs of our mountains - rosemary, thyme, lavender - but also really serious and elegant."
The barrel was named Maggie O'Farrell, after the Scottish writer who wrote Hamnet - an adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. "At his heels a cold stone" is a line from the original play. The wine is serious and close to being dramatically good - like the book.

La Hermandad de la Uva - Cabernet Franc "Every Now and Then..."

100% Cabernet Franc from the same vineyard as the Syrah, in Poboleda - planted close to the Siurana river where the llicorella slate mixes with smooth river stones carried down from the Montsant over millennia. The combination brings minerality and freshness that you rarely find in Cabernet Franc from warmer climates.
Silvia writes: "The Cab Franc in Priorat has surprised me - I had never tasted one from here before I made it myself. It shows the grape variety easily but still with this touch of our region: the stone and the rosemary. It is so clean and long. Instead of showing the green touch that some Cab Francs usually have, here we are on the ripe side - black pepper and hints of violet."
The barrel was named Bonnie Tyler because of her song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" - which has a kind of wonderful crescendo, same as the wine. On the label: "Every now and then..."

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
The kind of White Burgundy I need in my life - on SALE for $12.99
The best $7.99 Pinot Noir you will ever have...

It's a nice kind of week to be able highlight some of the $7.99 showstoppers here at winestore, and when the temps start creeping up and the local pools start to open up, Petite Gargotte begins to walk itself out the door.

There is just something about an ice cold, crisp, dry white wine on a warm afternoon that hits just right 😁

(If we're being honest it also hits just right like at 8pm on the couch watching the latest episode of Rooster on HBO (anyone else watching that?), but it can work any which way!)

So why do we love this wine so much?

The Comte Tolosan region is a defined area (the wine trade calls them IGPs or Géographique Protégée) that encompasses famed wine regions: Jurancon, Cahors and Armagnac, but the wines so named are either blends of the better-known areas or blends that include wines from outside those spots though still in Southwest France. Typically, the white wines are based upon neutral grapes like Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche, or more aromatic grapes like Petit Manseng or Gros Manseng. While few of these grapes have distinctive personalities, if you put them into a harmonious blend (like we have here), they can be really charming and waaaaaaaaaay over deliver for the price point.

So leave work a little early today, grab a bottle, and start the "weekend" right. Thursday is the start of the weekend, right? 😂

2024 Chazeaux des Beuchottes

Release Price: $15.00
SALE Price: $7.99 (net)
SAVE 47%

Lowest Online Price in the US!

SALE runs Wednesday May 13th - Sunday May 17th, 2026

Reminder we open at 9am Thursday - Saturday!

The fact that we can still buy extremely high quality wine from Europe for $7.99 is almost mind blowing at this point, but Chazeaux is basically on an island of its own when it comes to wines that fly off the quality to price ratio chart.

THE breakout value star for us in the last six years also happens to be maybe the best $7.99 bottle of Pinot Noir you are ever gonna try.

We've only sent 4 e-mails about it in the last 6 years and you all clearly like what you tasted the first time you bought it. You came back for more and more to the tune of over 74,600 bottles (that's a lot of love!).

Beuchottes hails from the Languedoc-Roussillon, a region of France where Pinot Noir can prosper, but only in the cooler spots. As you have probably guessed, the components for this little gem come from some of the coolest areas in the region. That said, the main goal here was to marry a traditional and elegant French style of winemaking while highlighting some of the vibrant complexity you find in larger reds from the Languedoc - and Beuchottes accomplishes that in spades.

Things I love include Pinot Noir, and great wines priced nearly half the price of a twice baked potato the grocery charged me for the other day (I know, soooo crazy!)

This is in my wheelhouse!!

A case is coming home with me today.

Happy Wednesday all!

Final 88 Cases!

We'll have this open to taste for FREE today and tomorrow at all 9 stores!

Nothing says you love Mom like a bottle of bubbles!

But Mom has some demands. The bubbles have to be delicious, but versatile. Wonderful on their own but can also pour easily into a mimosa. To fit that bill you also need to be thrifty (we're not pouring Dom into orange juice, are we?!?!).

Maison de Flottes fits all the criteria and then some. You didn't know it, but it may be the best value sparkling wine on the market today.

How did we find out about this wine?

Last year, the people behind our #1 selling and all time most dominant white wine, Bleu Blanc Thau, told us they were launching a sparkling wine based off of the same juice. Obviously this information got us excited...I mean REAL excited. But you can't set yourself up for disappointment, right? Manage expectations. Maybe it won't be amazing?

Then we tried it.

Consider it racy, lively and perfect for Mother's Day (or any day for that matter).

How are they making sparkling wine with essentially the same juice as Bleu Blanc Thau?

When you ferment grape juice into wine, you get carbon dioxide. With most wines, you let the CO2 drift up into the air. With sparkling wine, you just keep the container of fermenting grapes sealed and you bottle the wine with the bubbles in it as well. It can be more complicated, of course, but that’s roughly how it goes down.

TGIF!

It's sold more than Rombauer Chardonnay, Quilt Cabernet and even more than Prisoner.

Clearly it doesn't need fanfare or fancy marketing. Montcharme lets the wine do all the talking - and it really has something to say.

Rich, fully extracted, easy drinking and delicious (oh and less than $10)...it's everything the doctor ordered for a beautiful spring day...and dare I say it even tastes better with a little chill on it (pro tip!!).

My personal opinion?

This is the most exciting white wine in the entire store right now.

We first tasted the Guillemain Pinot Gris back in February 2023 at one of the world's largest wine trade shows. It was an absolute showstopper - the price was beyond right, and the packaging was insane (I love wax on a bottle that costs less than $20!).

Sadly, the winery didn't have any to sell us. They don't make much, and it was sold out. (Why we got to taste it when there was none to sell is a different conversation for a different time...😂)

So we waited...and waited...and waited...and we were finally given the opportunity to buy this gem.

Guillemain is from one of the hottest new winemaking wizards in France, Antoine de la Farge - and I'm not even remotely kidding when I tell you this will be one of the best white wines you drink in 2026.

Why is this wine so good?

In the 7th century, King Dagobert I gifted his fields and vines to the monks of the Royal Abbey of Saint-Denis. That land became Reuilly - one of the oldest wine regions in France. Reuilly wines were served at the court of Catherine de' Medici, praised as "the best in the Berry country." And in 1937, Reuilly became one of the first appellations in France to receive AOC status.

But here's the thing: Reuilly is one of the only places in the Loire Valley where Pinot Gris has been traditionally grown for centuries. It's a rarity. While Sauvignon Blanc covers most of the appellation's 500 acres, just a sliver is planted to Pinot Gris - and the results are unlike anything you've tasted from Alsace or anywhere else.

Because the de la Farge vineyard sits on Kimmeridgian clay - the same ancient limestone that runs beneath Chablis and Sancerre - there is a nerve and minerality to this wine that makes it racy and refreshing. It's not the rich, sometimes slightly sweet Pinot Gris you know from Alsace. This is dry, crisp, and electric.

Some friends of mine have made a point recently that due to Sancerre prices, they are looking for something that is "like a Sancerre." You know - similar flavor profile and excitement that doesn't break the bank?

That's where this wine comes in.

We're doing burgers and baked beans tonight...and this!!!

There is one white wine that is so popular that in the 3 years we have been carrying it, we haven't even been able to send out a newsletter about it.

It keeps selling out right when it lands. So then we order more + some extra...same thing...and round and round we go.

So now we FINALLY have ordered what we think will at least cover us for a hot minute, and we're here to tell you about it.

It is the ultimate "if you know, you know" white wine right now.

Dominique Haverlan Château Grand Bourdieu Prestige Blanc

Dominique Haverlan is the son of a winemaker. He grew up in the Graves - Bordeaux's oldest wine region, where Romans planted vines almost 2,000 years ago. After years working alongside his father and studying oenology at the prestigious La Tour Blanche school, he set out on his own more than 30 years ago.

In 1988 he bought the ruined Vieux Château Gaubert - literally clearing the overgrown property with a chainsaw - and rebuilt it from nothing. Today he farms over 150 hectares across some of the finest terroirs in the Graves and Pessac-Léognan, including Château de La Brède, the historic estate of the philosopher Montesquieu.

The man is a builder - and his wines reflect it.

Château Grand Bourdieu sits on 16 hectares of superb gravelly soils - the signature terroir that gives Graves its name (from "grava," old French for gravel). These are the same soils that made the great white Bordeaux famous: stones deposited by the Garonne River over thousands of years, retaining heat by day and draining perfectly.

The Prestige Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, partially fermented in barrel and aged on the lees for 6 months with regular stirring. The result is a white wine with the freshness and citrus lift of Sauvignon, the richness and texture of Sémillon, and the kind of complexity you'd expect from wines at 3-4x the price.

This is White Bordeaux the way it's supposed to taste - and at a price that makes no sense.

Will I be drinking a glass of this tonight? 100%

Let's do this!

Back in 2019, this wine changed a lot of things for me.

At that time, it was the single greatest value wine I had ever tasted. Heck, even today it's in my top 5. When we found out we could bring it to you for around $10 a bottle, we were shook. How does a wonderful, fully organic, delicious wine like this exist at this price?!

Ever since then we've been riding this wine on its rocket ship to the moon.

Préjugés is one of those wines that flies under the radar, but once you get it in your weekly rotation, it rarely leaves. The numbers are quite staggering - would you believe that you all have made NC the #1 market for this wine on planet earth? 'Tis true. Here at winestore., it outsells Sonoma Cutrer, Rombauer, Mer Soleil, and just about everything else. 😂

What makes Préjugés so awesome?

If you had told me that a French Chardonnay, from a little-known producer, from a little-known region (Cabardès), would become our top Chardonnay offering in 2019, 2020, 2021 - and run third place in 2022, 2023, 2024 AND 2025 only because we couldn't keep it in stock through all the supply chain disruptions - without question I would have thought you were crazy.

That is a staggering run of success.

California Chardonnay dominates the charts here at winestore., but Préjugés is something special, and took our sales by storm.

Cabardès hasn't always been a favored site for white wine, but its intense limestone soils are beginning to consistently offer Chardonnay of Burgundy-like nerve. This barrel-aged white has qualities that both California and French Chardonnay lovers are going to go "ga ga" over - and it drinks better than some California Chardonnays and white Burgundies at 4x the price. No joke.

$10.99 through Sunday!

Let's gooooooo!

2024 Domaine Priou Pinot Noir

Release Price in the EU: $18.49 USD

SALE runs Tuesday April 21st - Sunday April 26th, 2026

Reminder we open at 9am Thursday - Saturday

Only 4 pallets came to the United States!

You know Domaine Priou. We've been selling their Sauvignon Blanc for the last two years as the closest thing to Sancerre quality at a fraction of the price.

Now meet their Pinot Noir.

François and Jean-François Priou mostly grow Sauvignon Blanc along the River Cher in the Loire Valley. But as the world warms up, certain places that didn't used to be able to ripen certain grapes are finding it easier to show off. The Loire is one of them.

While you might not think of the Loire Valley for Pinot Noir, it's routinely grown there - and if you haven't had a chance to drink any of the lighter, ethereal versions from this region, it's because the yields are small and the locals gobble up most of it.

This is textbook cool-climate Pinot: bright, fresh, lifted red fruits, silky texture, no heaviness. Think Burgundy's lighter side without Burgundy's price tag.

The label says it all: "Issu de raisins travaillés à l'ancienne sans désherbant chimique" - grapes farmed the old way, without chemical herbicides.

Inexpensive. High Quality. No funny business.

This is what we are all about!!

We'll keep it short and sweet today. I know what I'm drinking tonight!

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
It's that good - For Master's Week!

Can a $9.99 bottle taste like a $70 wine?
On sale for $9.99 and fitting my Master's vibe...

I'm sorry, but we absolutely CANNOT head into a spring weekend with weather across the Carolinas and Georgia being near perfect and not have Larme Rosé on sale for $9.99.

We just had to do it - it is too perfect not to...

So if weekend day drinking maybe a killer glass of rosé is in your lineup sometime this weekend, as it is for me, we have got you covered!

I know what I'm drinking...right when I get home...and all weekend long!!

It's that good - For Master's Week!

In three short years, Maison Belliac has become the 2nd most important Chardonnay we carry.

There is good reason for that...and that is the wine is probably one of the most outstanding Chardonnay values on the planet.

How do I know this? My wife is their core customer.

I've told you this before, but it I feel like it needs to be said again. So here we go...

My wife's favorite Chardonnay is Kistler. (I mean, I love Kistler too...)

But Kistler is like $70 per bottle...and that's not exactly in my "everyday" price point. It's not even in my weekend price point. It's more in the Birthday / Anniversary / Holiday price point.

Good news though is that she believes that Maison Belliac Chardonnay tastes EXACTLY like Kistler.

Now you may dismiss this as absurd...but can a $10 bottle of wine taste exactly like a $70 bottle of wine?

The answer is - maybe.

My answer to that question is usually no, but honestly this wine is really really close. So close that many people you pour this for will think you probably spent $50+ on the wine (we gotta keep your friends and family knowing you are serving them the best!)

One thing everyone seems to agree on though is that this wine, on sale for $9.99, is on a whole other level of value. The sales numbers tell us this week in and week out. It hasn't missed a beat in 3 years and has never had a down year!

Just for fun I am going to pour a glass for my wife this evening and tell her it's Kistler 😁

Let's see how that goes!

Happy Wednesday All!

SALE runs Tuesday April 7th - Sunday April 12th, 2026

Maybe one of my favorite wine finds in the last several years has been L'Enfant Rebelle Sauvignon Blanc.

Over the last two years, many of you have come to learn what we found out in winter of 2022 - Antoine Lafarge is putting out some of the highest quality / affordable white wine in the Loire Valley (dare I say maybe on planet earth?).

While his portfolio contains an embarrassment of riches, his entry level offering "L'Enfant Rebelle" may be the star of the show.

Why, do you ask?

Well, the European AOC system delineates the boundaries of any winegrowing region; the idea is that the best and appropriate area is reserved for the AOCs. That means that there are other places that can make high quality wine but simply don’t fit within the AOC boundaries. That includes this site just outside of the established Loire Valley vineyards where delicious Sauvignon Blanc can be made, similarly to Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé, but not at similar prices to those better-known wines.

That's what we have here, and good golly is it something else. Oh, did we mention it is the lowest price in the United States as well? Heck, you could pay almost 17 pounds in the UK for this (thats basically $22.97 US - click HERE for the offering), or you could just grab it at your neighborhood winestore. for $9.99 😁

But don't take our word for it.

I got this text exchange from a friend the first week this wine landed (which also included the photo we used in this newsletter!). The "he" referenced below is our Store VP in Charlotte:

So ignore at your peril! At $9.99 it is outrageous.

Let's do this!!

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
Not sure I could love this wine more at $9.99
$9.99 rosé just in time for Easter and Spring Break!
Only 61 cases of this Sancerre remain...

It's pretty much confirmed for me at this point. I think $7.99 wine is my new thing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking to sacrifice on quality one bit. But when the quality is firing and the price hits that magic price point...it becomes electric!

So what is the deal with this one?

Last week we introduced you to Malluso Pinot Grigio at $7.99 - and made the point that it costs the same as a coffee at Starbucks.

Now meet the red.

Malluso Rosso is the same price, from the same producer, and built for the same purpose: everyday drinking without overthinking it.

This is a straightforward Italian red - soft, fruity, easy on the tannins, and completely at home next to a bowl of pasta or a Tuesday night pizza. It's not trying to be complex. It's not demanding your attention. It's just good, honest wine at a price that makes zero sense.

The producer, as we told you, is Progetti Agricoli, part of the Veraison Group founded by Edoardo Freddi - a 34-year-old Italian entrepreneur who's built a wine empire moving over 16 million bottles a year across 60 international markets. They're based in Castiglione delle Stiviere, a small town in Lombardy near Lake Garda - the same town where Henri Dunant founded the International Red Cross in 1859 after witnessing the carnage of the Battle of Solferino.

That's a bit of history you didn't expect from a $7.99 bottle of red.

It's gonna be an EPIC Saturday today. You in?

100% Cabernet Sauvignon on SALE for $9.99

I am the #1 believer in that you don't need to pay a lot of money to drink fabulous wine - but when we find something outstanding at just $7.99 per bottle I get really fired up.

I mean - I think Starbucks is charging $7.99 for some cups of coffee these days. I'd rather pay that for a nice bottle of vino 😂

Today's blockbuster? Malluso Pinot Grigio.

This new arrival comes from Progetti Agricoli, part of the Veraison Group - one of the fastest-growing wine companies in Italy right now. Veraison was founded in 2022 by Edoardo Freddi, who at 34 years old has assembled a portfolio of Italian wineries that now moves over 16 million bottles a year across 60 international markets. One of those wineries is Salvaterra in Valpolicella - among the largest Amarone producers in Italy, shipping 500,000+ bottles annually. These are serious people.

Progetti Agricoli itself is based in Castiglione delle Stiviere, a historic town in Lombardy near Lake Garda - the same town where Henri Dunant founded the International Red Cross in 1859 after witnessing the bloody aftermath of the Battle of Solferino. It's a region steeped in history, and it sits right in the heart of northern Italy's winemaking corridor.

The wine itself is a Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC - which is the official designation for Pinot Grigio from northeastern Italy's Triveneto region (Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Trentino). This is where 85% of Italian Pinot Grigio comes from - and 43% of the world's production. The DOC was established in 2017 specifically to protect and elevate the quality of Pinot Grigio from this region. When you see that "delle Venezie DOC" on the label, it means the wine has been certified and traced from grape to bottle.

The Triveneto is shaped like a natural amphitheater, with the Alps protecting the vineyards from cold northern winds. The climate is cool enough for Pinot Grigio to develop bright acidity and delicate aromatics, but warm enough for the fruit to ripen fully. It's textbook Pinot Grigio country.

At $7.99, this is crisp, clean, food-friendly Italian white wine from a certified DOC region, backed by a company that's selling 16 million bottles a year because they figured out how to deliver quality at scale.

Summer is coming. Stock accordingly.

I know what I'm drinking tonight!!

Blind Taste 2024 Belle Glos "Clark & Telephone"

Saturday March 21st, 2026
9am - 8pm
All Day Long!

For just the 2nd time since March of 2023, the Belle Glos Clark & Telephone blind tasting has returned due to overwhelming demand (who doesn't love blind tastings?!?!?)

As a Pinot Noir lover...this may be my favorite blind tasting. I don't do enough blind tasting and it really is a fun way to just decide what my taste buds love most - no matter the cost (but let's be honest I want it to be lower than higher!!!).

If you don't know the price, can't see the label, and can't hear someone barking in your ear about the wine's "score" or prestige, then all that is left is the juice and your taste buds. It's a scary proposition for any winemaker. That's why you have marketing departments that design catchy labels, create campaigns to build a wine's image, and spend all of their time and energy essentially trying to convince consumers that a wine is great. The problem is that you can't out "market" a blind tasting.

Which is why we're playing "Find the Belle Glos" this Saturday. It's simple really. Eight wines will be tasted blind on the tasting machine. One of them will be 2024 Belle Glos "Clark & Telephone" Pinot Noir and the others will be an assortment of Pinot etc. at every price point from a number of different regions. All you have to do is load up your card with $8.00, taste all eight wines (you don't have to taste all 8 if you don't want to, but it's more fun if you do!), and pick your favorite. Yes, that's right, your favorite. If that's the Belle Glos, then great, if not, well that's OK too. You may be surprised as to what your favorites actually are.

Get ready to taste some amazing Pinot Noir! We will announce the winners next Tuesday!

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
The best value wine of all time?

The rosé gods did not appreciate us not putting a rosé on sale last week as we cruise into spring, and I feel like they responded with cold weather.

So we are BACK, with one of our more epic rosé offerings to get us back to warm weather this weekend!

So here is the question...

How does a rosé become the #3 best selling rosé of all time in the store and we've only mentioned in a newsletter 2 times?

By delivering the goods, in a BIG way.

Rosabelle is affordable, delicious, and nutritious (well, maybe not nutritious but I think that used to be an advertising slogan back in the day 😂).

I'm glad wines like Rosabelle exist. I need more delicious $10 wine in my life! I'm tired of people trying to convince me that the $8 PB&J on the kids menu at the restaurant makes any financial sense. Or the $13 side of mac and cheese. Make the madness stop please!

Anyhoo - back to a $9.99 bottle of stunning rosé...

For rosé it doesn't matter as much what grapes you use, just the process. Though they need to be picked early and when they’re still tangy and tart. For Rosabelle that means Grenache and Cinsault. These days a paler style of rosé prevails, set by Provençal producers and Rosabelle is cut from that cloth.

Added bonus here? According to Vivino the average price paid for Rosabelle out there is $18.33 - and you're getting it for $9.99 per bottle.

SCORE!

On Sale through Sunday...but I know what I'm drinking tonight!!

Happy Wednesday All!
