We haven’t shelved that one on the website — but it may still be in a store, and if it exists, we can probably get it.
Clos Delfines
Albarino is Spain's most successful white wine and Clos Delfines is a benchmark for the style: crisp, green apple, pear and peach skins.
Darley Chardonnay
Fresh, vibrant, and full of charm, this Chardonnay shows off juicy pear and peach, a touch of vanilla, and toasty brioche. The palate is rich yet lively, finishing long with a hint of hazelnut warmth. It’s an easy match for seafood, soft cheeses, or just sipping with friends. So smooth it might seduce your seafood.
Domaine de La Fidelite Premiere Cuvee
Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, once ubiquitous on shelves and wine lists, are getting hard to find today. Smart buyers are looking at the AOC’s next door, like Menetou-Salon, just a few miles west of those two better known areas. And just like those places, the soils are a mix of Kimmeridgian limestone and the even more famed soil, silex. Silex deserves its fame; it provides tension and complexity to the aromatic Sauvignon Blanc grape.
Domaine Priou Sauvignon Blanc
Sure, most people think that France is neatly laid out, codified and completely explored but, outside of Burgundy and Bordeaux, there are still plenty of vineyards that deserve more attention. The Loire Valley demands that kind of recognition and, in the era of climate change, it is increasingly a source of delicious wines. Sauvignon Blanc used to be notable only from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. Equal measures of fruit and mineral.
Dosoris Lane Blanc
Sometimes you just have to embrace the mystery of wine; truth be told, we don’t know which grapes are in this wine. They wouldn’t tell us, but we didn’t care after we tasted it. Neither merely crisp or full and rich; the wine straddles a really nice place that is refreshing and patio-perfect, but that has some weight and character to handle rich fish or even grilled chicken.
Florensac Selection Picpoul
Here’s what you should know about Picpoul de Pinet: it’s never bad. There’s a lot to be said for grapes that never suck. We tasted this Picpoul de Pinet and it was utterly delicious. So, this is our short and sweet recommendation for this wine.
Giuliano Rosati Pinot Grigio
Dan Bada & Charlie Trivinia, whose mothers emigrated to the U.S. together from Le Marches, Italy, and lived in the same house for some time. The two were childhood friends and in adulthood they decided to launch a wine import business. They work with winemakers Giuseppe and Luigi Anselmi in the Veneto to create this wine from the Anselmi’s 600-acre estate near the sea. This is traditional Pinot Grigio: stainless steel, fresh and tangy.
Grand Moulin Blanc
For Chateau Grand Moulin (the big windmill, essentially), it helps that the vineyards are just above the Orbieu River, filled with small stones and gravel on top of layers of silt and clay. Grenache Blanc provides the meat, Rolle provides the charm and Roussanne adds a distinct honeysuckle note to this dry wine.
Guillemain Reuilly Pinot Gris
Reuilly is one of those lesser known Loire Valley appellations that are rapidly becoming important, since Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé are getting expensive and harder to find. While Sauvignon Blanc covers most of the 500 acres, a little bit of Pinot Gris is grown here. Because the de la Farge vineyard sits on Kimmeridgien Clay, the soil underneath Chablis and Sancerre, there is a nerve and minerality to this wine that makes it racy and refreshing.
