Alexana Pinot Noir Terroir Series
Dr. Madaiah Revana created this estate in 2005 fulfilling an obsession with Pinot Noir. Alexana is named after his daughter and is located in the Dundee Hills appellation. Revana Estate is 80 acres, L.I.V.E. Certified, and planted to ten clones of Pinot Noir on those eighteen different soils. Each block is vinified separately and then blended together and aged for eleven months in one-third new French oak barrels.
Antoine de la Farge Sancerre Rouge
Every region has its champions, even if it’s unfair to single out particular producers when the ancient Loire Valley has so many heroes. But Antoine de la Farge is among those great winemakers; and in a vintage as lush as 2023, this is just plain fabulous. Sure, it’s not California Pinot Noir; it’s more like the quiet elegance of the best New Zealand efforts with the grape, only with more complexity and earth.
Aurore de Dauzac
Margaux always sounds intimidating, right? “Oh, excuse me, I only drink Margaux.” Relax — it’s still just fermented grape juice. Really good fermented grape juice… that I’m probably drinking in sweatpants while reheating leftover pizza. This is the second wine of Château Dauzac, a Fifth Growth estate that’s been making wine since the Middle Ages. It’s Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, plush with blackberries, plums, and a little cedar. Aged for a year in French oak, it’s polished and elegant — or at least as elegant as you can feel when you’re pairing it with last night’s Domino’s.

The “Austin” wine is a multiple vintage blend of vineyards in the region; think of it as the ultimate winemaker’s craft for his own table.
Baron de Roncelin Cotes du Rhone
Imagine you’re a monk minding your own business and a mob drags you out to run Marseille. That actually happened to a guy named Roncelin in 1193. He ran the city, got married, got excommunicated by the Pope and ended up right back at the abbey. We’d want a glass of wine after that too.
Belcoop Red
The massive Pays d’Oc covers the greater part of Mediterranean France. After the railroad was built, linking the south to Paris, wines of the Languedoc filled the carafes of Parisian bistros, and they still do today. But the last century has seen vast improvements to the wines that once were built only for value. The rest is traditionally made; though used and funky barrels are no longer the norm in the Languedoc, where this tasty wine is crafted.

Chuck and his family, as you probably know, are virtual dynamos in the California wine business, with Joe Wagner, his son and the grandson of Chuck Sr. one of the great pioneers of Napa, producing Pinot Noir in Oregon as well. Chuck and his other son Charlie and daughter Jenny, continue to make Caymus the grand Napa benchmark that it is. So when he makes a tasty little blend like this, it makes sense to buy some and enjoy them tonight.

Alexander Valley is distinct in its pure friendliness; the wines are genuinely enjoyable from day one, expansive of fruit and reliably supple throughout their lives. Once you taste this, you'll understand how much of a bargain it actually is.
Boulee Cordot
Syrah is planted throughout Mediterranean France, and has a strong reputation dating back to the mid-19th century when Bordeaux chateaux would blend a small amount into their wines to improve them. Alicante? It’s one of the rare Teinturier grapes, having red juice as well as red skins and in the right spots it can be powerful and juicy, not just inky. Together they make for a very modern, fascinating, if untraditional, wine.
Brooks Bank Cabernet
This 100% Cabernet is full of dark berry flavors to offset its tough guy tannins. This is BIG wine for little money. It’s basically the wine equivalent to Patrick Swayze in “Roadhouse.” Best movie EVER.
