Brooks Bank Cabernet
This 100% Cabernet is full of dark berry flavors to offset its tough guy tannins. This is BIG wine for little money. It’s basically the wine equivalent to Patrick Swayze in “Roadhouse.” Best movie EVER.
The Pessimist
When the Daou Brothers took their tech dollars a-shopping in Paso Robles they only bought the best: the old Hoffman Mountain Ranch. Founded by Dr. Stanley Hoffman in 1964, this was the site of some legendary wine. I can tell you about the 1976 and 1977 HMR Cabernet, but then that would be rude bragging. Let’s just say that Daou wines have an excellent and established pedigree; this one is a powerful Syrah blend.
Darley Alexander Valley Red
Darley is 100% single vineyard Cabernet from a famed vineyard in Alexander Valley. One that currently produces some $75 Cabernet, a $200+ Malbec (what?!?!?), and an $85 Sauvignon Blanc among other craziness. 93% Cabernet, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec and 1% Merlot showcases intense black fruits with lengthy velvety tannins.

Top 3 Wines from the Prisoner Blind Tasting!
1 - Brooks Bank Cabernet (21% of all first place votes!)
2 - Pessimist Red Blend
3 - Darley Red Blend
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Prisoner Blind Tasting on Saturday. The energy was electric!
We had a strong lineup of wines, but the winner was clear.
It should come as no surprise to me that Brooks Bank Cabernet dominated the competition. It was our Wine of the Year runner up in 2022. Vivino lists it as one of the 25 best Cabernets made in Spain at any price point (here). Since its release, it is the 9th best selling wine in the entire store.
So to celebrate the win, and to celebrate trying to be thrifty, we're putting it on sale through Sunday!
It's only the 6th time we have ever been able to offer this price, and at $14.99 represents Cabernet Sauvignon value that I would put up against any Cab on planet earth at this price.

Why is this wine so good?
When one of the best winemaking teams in Europe get together and gather juice from some of the oldest Cabernet vineyards in Spain (pic here), and age the wine in barrels typically reserved for $100+ wines (pic of the barrel here), and the retail price is set to be less than $40...we take serious interest.
When we can put it on sale for $14.99? It's time to back up the truck.
It is powerful, poised and persuasive Cabernet and to put it frankly, stupid cheap for the money. Honestly, I wish this was one of those things that would never run out of supply.
The Vivino reviews are stellar as well. And the avg reported price from users is $23!

I know what I'm drinking tonight! Let's do this!
